Mazda is giving away 50 units of the 100th Anniversary Miata
This has been one helluva year and bright spots in 2020, whenever they come, deserve recognition. That sentiment brings us to Mazda, which announced earlier today that it will give away 50 examples of the 100th Anniversary Special Edition (100th ASE) Miata to deserving heroes.
The 100th ASE Miata pays homage to the upper-tier versions of the Mazda R360 microcar, the brand’s first passenger car, released in 1960. It’s offered in Snowflake White Pear Mica with a deep cherry red Nappa leather interior, and there’s special badging adorning the side of the vehicle, wheel centers, floor mats, key fobs, and headrests. If you opt for the roadster (which we highly recommend) rather than the targa-top RF, you can have a matching cherry red soft top.
To enter the Mazda Heroes Contest, you must be a resident in one of 50 U.S. states or Washington, D.C. Create a video no more than one minute in length to explain how your nominee has gone above and beyond to selflessly lift the spirits of their community. The videos should have no music, lest they be disqualified. Once your nominee video is uploaded to YouTube, fill out the official application found on the landing page for the contest. The contest runs through the 11:59 pm ET on October 25, so you’ve got a bit of time to get your entry sorted out.
We can think of few automotive antidotes to this year than finding a sparkling, cherry red and snowflake white convertible in your driveway. We love that Mazda is leaning into the ultimate appeal of the Miata—smiles per mile—and celebrating those who make positive impacts on their communities, especially in challenging times.
If you know someone who would be worthy of this contest, give them a shot at the open-air joy of a fantastic sports car.
