Jeep announces 80th Anniversary models and free maintenance for ’21 Jeeps
All Jeep vehicles are getting in on the action as the brand celebrates 80 years in business. Jeep will soon offer 80th Anniversary Editions across its model range. The 2021 model year Wrangler, Gladiator, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, Compass, and Renegade will each be available with an understated 80th Anniversary Edition package, which brings convenience features along with a fourth-generation Uconnect system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen that packs Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and SiriusXM satellite radio.
So far, Jeep has only shown the package on silver and gray models, but fear not—the option is available on a wide variety of colors and will be available in the fourth quarter of 2020.
In addition to the aforementioned audio system upgrade, the Wrangler and Gladiator packages will both include 80th Anniversary exterior badging along with paint-matched fender flares, Neutral Grey Metallic grille bezels, headlamp rings, and fog lamp bezels. They’ll be fitted with 18-inch wheels finished in Granite Crystal and wrapped in 255/70R18 Bridgestone Dueler all-terrain tires. That’s 32 inches tall, for those that are bad at metric conversions like us.
Inside, Wrangler and Gladiator Anniversary Editions gets black diamond-embossed cloth seats highlighted by light grey stitching. They will also come with an 80th Anniversary tag, Berber floor mats, and remote start capability. The Wrangler Unlimited with the 80th Anniversary Edition stickers for $40,985; the Gladiator rings up at $43,235 (both prices include destination charges).
The Grand Cherokee incorporates similar 80th Anniversary badging but brings 20-inch wheels and leather seats to the party. It also comes with Jeep’s ProTech II Package that bundles a whole suite of convenience and safety features: parking assist, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, rain-sensing wipers, and advanced brake assist.
For the Cherokee, Compass, and Renegade, the 80th Anniversary Edition brings Gun Metal interior accents, black headliner and Berber floor mats, along with 19-inch wheels in Granite Crystal finish. The Cherokee and the Compass both get remote start. Sorry, Renegade fans, not for you. You’ll have to settle with dual-zone climate control.
Jeep also announced that all 2021 Jeep models will benefit from an expanded Jeep Wave Customer Care program that includes three years of free maintenance at Jeep dealers and VIP access to exclusive Jeep brand events—anything from off-road driving experiences to the annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab. If you weren’t already sold on the off-road capability of the Wrangler and Gladiator, the Jeep Wave perks are probably not enough to sway you, but they do sweeten the 80th Anniversary deal.
