The Luftgekühlt air-cooled fest is coming to Durham, North Carolina

Luftgekühlt, the air-cooled vehicle show that went from small gathering to full on festival in just a few years, is making a cross-country move. The celebration of all things German and air-cooled was previously West coast only, but this spring it will be relocating to Durham, North Carolina.

There is only one make welcome at Luft—Porsche. Air-cooled Porsche to be specific. The artfully presented and curated 911, 356, and 914 models on display are only overshadowed by the race cars and personalities carefully sprinkled throughout the event.

The Instagram-friendly layout and highly curated nature of Luft has attracted a somewhat different crowd compared to other staple auto enthusiast events, including Porsche fans of all stripes and age groups. The venue selections have also been artfully selected in the past, with locations including the cleanest lumber yard in history and the Universal Studios backlot. So what’s the next big site in Durham?

So far, we don’t know for sure. There is the option to sign up to be notified with any new information as the organizers continue to carefully release details of the event. From the information presented there will be multiple tours and gatherings of cars converging on the event come May 29. Tickets sell fast, so plan accordingly. See you there.
