Land Rover will sell you a brand new 1970 Range Rover Sport … coat
Land Rover is marking 50 years of the Range Rover in 2020, and the celebrations include something special to wear to the party. Yes, you can now buy a Range Rover Sport Coat to match the colors of the first 1970 Range Rover.
The unique houndstooth check cloth was designed by Land Rover chief creative officer Gerry McGovern in collaboration with tailors Henry Poole & Co of Savile Row, London. McGovern is well-known for his penchant for bespoke Savile Row suits so it’s no surprise this deal was sewn up.
The lambswool cloth is woven by Somerset’s Fox Brothers and has been “inspired by a heritage colorway featuring a Tuscan Blue lining and Bahama Gold under-collar, yet designed to have a modern casual twist, which can also be worn with timeless elegance,” according to Poole’s managing director Simon Cundey.
Tailors Poole have been on Savile Row since 1846 and have cut cloth for the likes of Charles Dickens, King Edward VIII and Winston Churchill. Just 131 yards of the unique fabric have been commissioned which is enough to tailor 50 jackets, so you’ll have to get measured up quick if you want one.
