2020 Barber Vintage Festival canceled

The 2020 event season has been a tough one, with many signature events being canceled due to public health concerns. The Barber Vintage Festival had been a holdout on this front, but event organizers last week announced that the festival planned for October 9-11th would not take place this year.

“It was a difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Barber Vintage Festival and was only reached after careful consultation with local and state public health professionals,” said Gene Hallman, CEO of ZOOM Motorsports, the organization behind the Vintage Festival. “It was important to be cautious in our approach, as the health and safety of all constituents is our number one priority.”

The three-day is a multifaceted event, folding in racing, a swap meet, and more. It appears the group has elected to cancel all aspects. The racing over the weekend is hosted by the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association, which has worked with other tracks to continue to host racer-only (no spectators) events through the last few months. The Barber Festival is typically the capstone to most of the AHRMA racer’s seasons.

“Each year we look forward to the opportunity to share our passion for the sport of motorcycling with our friends, family and guests that attend this event,” said Jeff Ray, Executive Director of the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum. “We are now focused on making the 2021 Barber Vintage Motorcycle Festival the best ever.”

Those who had already already paid for tickets or camping reservations will receive automatic refunds. The Bonhams auction scheduled to take place alongside the event will carry on as planned.

The countdown clock to October 8-10, 2021, is officially on, leading up to the next Barber Vintage Festival. Mark your calendars.
