Jay Leno drives a 1993 Toyota Supra Turbo with Paul Walker’s brother

Cody Walker, youngest brother of Fast and the Furious star and all-around car lover Paul Walker, stopped by Jay Leno’s garage with a 1993 Toyota Supra Turbo so Jay could drive one of Paul’s favorite cars. The two hit the road in the right-hand-drive coupe and talked about the upcoming car hangout in Santa Clarita, which will benefit the non-profit that Paul founded in 2010.

The In Memory of Paul car gathering will be held at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, California, and proceeds of the $10 entry fee will benefit Paul Walker’s Reach Out World Wide, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides medical services in response to natural disasters across the globe.

The Supra, borrowed from Toprank International Vehicle Importers, is (of course) powered by a 2JZ-GTE 3.0-liter inline six, and it surprises Jay with its power. With the windows down, you can even hear the whine from the sequential turbochargers. Rated at 276 horsepower, the 3.0-liter was new for the A80 generation Supra that debuted in 1993. Oddly enough, the 2.5-liter 1JZ GTE in the previous generation car was also rated at 276 hp, the maximum power allowed for Japanese-produced cars from 1989–2005, as set by a gentlemen’s agreement. The very similar 2JZ GTE for sale in the U.S. was rated at a lofty 320 hp. Who do they think they were fooling?
