25 Greatest Mustangs: 2015 GT350/GT350R

We had seen twin-stripe Mustangs before bearing the name of a particular Texas chicken farmer, but not like this.

The 526-hp GT350 and 350R aimed to conjure up the original ’65 GT350 as a pair of modern, murderous track animals. The most sophisticated suspension and brakes ever bolted to a Mustang paired beautifully with the 32-valve Voodoo V-8 and its Ferrari-like flat-plane crank.

The redline: 8000 rpm, accompanied by a feral bawl. Until the $50,000 GT350 and $64,000 350R, you had to buy a car with a four-syllable Italian name to get this much engine gusto.
