Full 2020 Corvette Stingray order guide may reveal base LT2 power

In our story about being able to order a custom VIN for the 2020 Corvette, we linked to Corvette Blogger, which had leaked a pdf copy of the dealers’ Order Guide for the C8 Vette. Now, a little-known (but apparently official) General Motors website, Gmfleetorderguide.com, has officially published the full order guide here.

At first glance, Gmfleetorderguide.com’s minimalist look might give you the impression that it’s a rudimentary fan site, but a quick check at whois.com shows that the site is indeed registered to none other than General Motors LLC. So it’s almost certainly legit.

This order info gives us our first hint at the standard output for the LT2, as it notes that the driver-adjustable NPP exhaust adds approximately 5 horsepower to the base LT2, meaning the base car should have 490 horsepower. We also learned that customers can override the recommended color pairings and mix and match exterior, interior, and seatbelt colors to their heart’s content. That option is not to be used for dealer stock. 

There’s a little more information at the site than on the leaked pdf, including “New for 2020”, and a link to Distribution Updates, the latter of which is blank so far. There is also a heading for Ordering Info, with a link, but that hyperlink doesn’t go anywhere. Perhaps that means that General Motors isn’t yet taking fleet orders on the C8, or maybe it means that GM won’t be selling the new mid-engine Corvette to commercial and rental fleets in general.

Considering that the first model year of production for the new ‘Vette is selling like crazy already, GM isn’t likely going to take discounted fleet orders for such a hot car. Whether or not the automaker eventually decides to sell the latest Corvette to fleets, it’s nice, though, that GM put all that information on the C8 in one easy-to-use website.
