What Cool Things Will You Never Do with Your Vehicle?
Perhaps you’ve already seen the upside down Camaro on a race track before, as this car was no stranger to going viral on the Internet. While it used to be a Camaro convertible, now it’s a tube frame race car with the guts of a Ford Festiva. I am sure that combination never came up on any Camaro’s bingo card, but it’s certainly a cool thing to do with a discarded pair of vehicles.
While things on the Internet may seem to randomly appear from thin air, there’s always a backstory as to why and how they happen. In this case, a gentleman who goes by the name of Speedycop is the prime mover in its creation. His delightful misadventures with automobiles are not for the faint of heart, and that leads me to the question posed to the Hagerty Community:

Upside down race car has already been taken, so we want to know what else you’ve considered, but will never do! Here is my submission:
As much as I love my Ford products from the 1970s-90s, and even considering how much time and money I throw at them, I am quite confident I’ll never get that ticker tape parade at Pebble Beach. Oh well!
My moto is never rule anything out. I have done things with my car I never ever expected to do. I have been invited to places done things and met people I never though I would.
I have had more valuable, more powerful and popular cars but my Little Fiero opened many doors.
Take top five at the biggest Pontiac show in the world twice. Run at Indy over 100 MPH, Same Mid Ohio. Loaned the car to GM for a large display of their heritage cars, been on the turn table in the Summit Racing Retail store at their head quarters. Driven down a carpeted hallway of an office building, Met Don Garlits and NBA player Larry Nance via the car. Best of show and over 100 plus awards at mostly national meets. Beat a Lamborghini at a concourse show. Had three magazine article’s on the car including one out now.
Best of all met some of my best friends with the car that I would never have known.
The door is open and I am just looking for the next opportunity and adventure that may come from this car.
I like my Corvette too but if I take it out it is just another Corvette.
Sajeev it is not just the car but what you make of it. if I can do that with a car that I have less in than many pay for their paint jobs. You may yet get that confetti celebration yet. Just look for the opportunities.
None of this is bragging. This is just showing you anything can happen and you don’t always need a Duesenberg or a Bugatti.
It is not just the car but the story and the journey. We are all able of great fun you just need to look for it.
I’ll never jump a canyon ala Thelma & Louise or Evel Knievel – but if I did, it’d make a cool YouTube video. Probably go viral and make the 9:00 news shows (not that I’d know).
Nah really, I’ll never drive Route 66 in my ’66 car when I’m 66 years old, but at one time (when I was 65) it seemed like a very cool idea. Even had a high school buddy who also has a ’66 who was going to go along. But life has it’s surprises and it didn’t work out. Now I’m even wondering if I’ll ever drive the Mother Road at ANY age!
