COVID-19 forces cancellation of 2021 Detroit Autorama
Already postponed from its traditional February dates to April 30–May 2, the 2021 Detroit Autorama has now been cancelled “due to rising COVID caseloads/hospitalizations in the state of Michigan.” The announcement was made today, April 20, on Autorama’s Facebook page. This year’s hot rod and customs event, typically held at Detroit’s TCF Center, would have been the 69th annual.
Autorama says it will begin issuing refunds in two weeks.
Detroit Autorama, founded by the Michigan Hot Rod Association, concentrates on the eight finalists competing for the Ridler Award, which is among the most prestigious trophies in the custom-car world. Check out our story and photos from the 2020 event here.
