Range Rover Sport powers past the million mark
Not only is the Range Rover Sport the fastest car in the Land Rover stable, it’s the fastest-selling as well.
With one million worldwide sales notched up since its launch in 2004, the Sport reached the milestone quicker than the Discovery which took 23 years, and the original iconic Land Rover which was sold for 28 years before hitting the million mark.
Land Rover is honoring the occasion with a short film recapping the Sport’s most memorable moments, including claiming the fastest SUV lap of the Nürburgring in 2014, crossing the Empty Quarter in the middle east, powering up Pikes Peak and flying up the 999 steps to Heaven’s Gate on China’s Tianmen Mountain.
Land Rover describes the Sport as “the most dynamic Range Rover” and offers it with a wide choice of power options from a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 to a 2.0-liter turbo plug-in hybrid, 3.0-liter gasoline straight-six, and the full-blown supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 which set that ‘Ring record.
Should you wish to join the one million owners already out there, Range Rover Sport prices start at $69,500 and rise to $130,000.
