1993 Mercedes-Benz 300 E Walk Around Video
Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Nineteen ninety-three was a big year for Mercedes. With the acquisition of notable tuning house AMG and the release of the new generation of flagship S-Class, the rest of the Mercedes-Benz product line would see a refresh. The first-generation official E-Class came in nearly every body style under the sun; the 124 was available as a sedan, two-door coupe, station wagon, two-door convertible, and a six-door limousine. Engineered with a carte blanche, it was a smart, comfortable, well-thought-out car with infinite variability. The full-size offering for Mercedes during the 1980s, every facet of the W124 was engineered to make the 300 E the most technologically advanced sedan of its time. During the transition to the modern “classes” that we know today in 1993, the W124 saw a facelift. The cosmetic enhancements, such as the paint-matched door panels and mirrors, were complimented by the introduction of the “M104” inline-six-cylinder engine, a considerable technological leap from the “M103” predecessor. The technological leap from 12 to 24 valves and the addition of variable valve timing was enough to boost horsepower from 177 to 228 horsepower, and to this day, the M104 remains one of the most popular Mercedes engines for tuners.
This 1993 Mercedes-Benz 300 E, with just two owners, is finished in the exceedingly rare shade of Midnight Blue on Parchment leather upholstery combination, which greatly complements the post-facelift body changes and a period-correct gold pinstripe. With 140,271 miles recorded on the odometer, this original example of the W124 sports a rare and desirable series of options.
