One-Owner 1997 Harley-Davidson Heritage Springer Softail Riding Video
Description
Harley-Davidson FL “big twins” were large, voluptuous motorcycles characterized by their generous use of chrome trim and ornate accessories. The 1948 FL was a distinctive bike as the first year for the new “Panhead” engine – nicknamed for its rocker covers resembling inverted cooking pans – and the last year to use a “Springer” fork front end before the advent of the telescopic Hydra-Glide front end in 1949. Inspired by these big, full-skirted Harleys, the 1997 Heritage Springer Softail is a nostalgic throwback to the 1948 Panhead. Decorated with beautifully sculpted fenders, acres of chrome plating, and fringed saddle bags on either side, the Heritage Springer Softail looks straight out of the 1940s. Only available in Birch White with red or blue striping for 1997, the Heritage Springer Softail has the commanding road presence of a classic American cruiser as well as the throaty exhaust note.
