Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
As Porsche's final iteration of the air-cooled 911 concept, the 993-generation is an icon in the automotive world that is particularly loved by the tight-knit enthusiast community. With its refined all-wheel-drive system and fresh styling that addressed the complete and proportional balance of the car's design, the 911 Carrera 4 Coupe is a contemporary driver's car that delights across almost any type of road. Bridging the gap from the early Monte Carlo Rally and later Paris-Dakar competition wins to today's limited production 911 Dakar model, the 4th generation 911 played an important evolutionary role in the all-wheel-drive story at Porsche.
The 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 on offer features consistent usage over its lifetime (an average of 3,500 miles per year), and of course, Porsche's all-wheel-drive system first pioneered in the 959 supercar and later redesigned with a viscous coupling and central shaft to transmit power to the front wheels. The new system weighed about half as much as the computer-controlled system of the 964 resulting in a marked difference in front end feel that was also used in both the 993 Turbo and Turbo S. Besides the obvious benefits of a redesigned all-wheel drive system underpinning this 993, the Carrera 4 is visually distinguished by silver painted Brembo brake calipers, 'Carrera 4' center caps, a silver exterior Carrera badge, and silver topped shift lever. A remarkably stock example of a 993-generation Carrera 4, this specially ordered example retains its US-specification ride height and many of the important hallmarks often missing from over a quarter century on the road including owner’s manuals, original factory toolkit, factory air compressor, aluminum jack and it’s all-important service and maintenance invoices accumulated over that period.
