1969 Mercury Cyclone

Description
Spawned from Mercury’s full-size line, the Cyclone began as a trim level for the popular Mercury Comet. The trim was designed to give the higher-end brand a sporty package to their full-size sedan. For the second generation of the Cyclone, they would drop the Comet name and the Cyclone stood on its own as Mercury’s answer to the full-size performance luxury cars offered by their competitors. The Cyclone’s third generation would cement its reputation for performance by breaking a speed record at Daytona International Speedway, hitting 182.22 miles per hour, earning the title of fastest car of the year. This Cyclone generation lasted from 1968 to 1969, and for the second year, Mercury expanded the engine options. The highly acclaimed Windsor family of engines made its way into Mercury with the Windsor 351 cu-in V8. This V8 developed 290 horsepower and, through a four-speed manual transmission, delivered an exhilarating driving experience.
This faithfully preserved 1969 Mercury Cyclone is finished in its original (144A) Black exterior adorned in authentic gold side stripes on (8Y) Nugget Gold vinyl interior with the optional center console. The interior is completed with optional bucket seats and original still-in-the-factory plastic lap belts. This factory-correct example serves as a time capsule, showcasing a blend of luxury, power, and the free-spirited rebellion that defined the muscle car era.
