Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The International R series, launched by International Harvester in 1953, marked a notable advancement from the earlier L series. This new range introduced the distinctive IH "tractor" grille emblem and brought several innovations, including the introduction of four-wheel drive and a greater emphasis on diesel engines. The R series retained the cab design of its predecessor but expanded its offerings significantly, covering light-duty pickups to tandem-axle semi tractors. This versatile lineup included configurations like pickups, panel trucks, and chassis-cabs. The grille design was simplified with a body-color grille featuring two prominent horizontal slots. These trucks are fondly remembered for their rugged construction and are a popular alternative for those looking for something unique.
