2000 Porsche Boxster
Description
Upon debut in the 1997 model year, the Boxster – Porsche’s first new model in close to 15 years – was an instant success not only for its nimble handling and 550 Spyder-inspired looks but its excellent build quality as well. The Boxster aped the 550’s engine arrangement as well opting for a mid-engine layout (the first mid-engined Porsche in 20 years), providing a low center of gravity as well as nearly perfect weight distribution. This design gave the Boxster its unique handling characteristics, commended for having uncanny precision, drawing in anyone fortunate to sit in the driver’s seat for a drive. A five-speed Tiptronic Automatic transmission operated with steering wheel controls and MacPherson strut suspension makes for a deeply satisfying driving experience. This first-generation “986” Boxster is the perfect introduction to Porsche for any aspiring sports car enthusiast. With stylish Speed Yellow over Black combination and “CARFAX one Owner” status, this particular Boxster is an excellent candidate.
