Description

Wally Byam’s streamlined “Silver Bullet” travel trailers date back to the 1930s and were cemented as a quintessential symbol of Americana following WWII, as millions of Americans turned their attention back to recreational travel. Airstreams gained a following among discerning travelers for their advanced construction techniques, durability, aerodynamic shape, and instantly recognizable brightly-polished aluminum exterior. Over nearly a century of production, Airstream has continued to incorporate modern conveniences and technology into its trailers while maintaining their iconic look and feel, making them an enduring sight on American roads.

In the 1950s, Airstream introduced the Sovereign of The Road line, measuring 30 feet or longer and designed for extended travel. Inside, the Sovereign boasted a dedicated living area, spacious kitchen, closet storage, as well as a bedroom and bath. This particular 1972 Sovereign International Land Yacht benefits from a recently completed restoration and features a 31-foot layout with a center bath and a queen bed at the rear. The ultimate example of a classic American travel trailer, this Airstream has yet to be used since the completion of the restoration and is primed for a small family looking to embark on their next adventure.
