Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
By the time the reborn Fiat 500 entered US showrooms in 2011, the cute and economical “Cinquecento” had sold over 500,000 units in other world markets. In addition to the 500C (Cabrio) model, the high-performance 500 Abarth arrived on North American shores equipped with a Honeywell turbo and Fiat’s MultiAir induction system. As a result the Abarth’s 1.4-liter inline-four now pumped out 160 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque – 58 and 73 percent increases respectively – while European examples only produced 133 horsepower. The underpinnings were also uprated with stiffer KONI dual-valve dampers, a 22-mm anti-roll bar, larger ventilated discs, and 16 by 6.5-inch alloy wheels. The sonorous melody of burbles and pops erupting from its dual exhaust outlets could be taken full advantage of in the 500C Abarth, which combined the scorching performance and aggressive appearance of the Abarth with the 500C’s sliding panoramic roof.
