1980 Clenet Series II Cabriolet
Description
Emerging in the early 1980s, the Clenet Series II brought distinctive 1930s retro styling into the modern era with hand-crafted bodies produced in Santa Barbara, California. Built on a Lincoln chassis with a powerful V8 engine, each ClenetSeries II was meticulously hand crafted by a small team of dedicated men and women, with an emphasis on attention to detail and personalized craftsmanship. These models were graced with many luxurious features including Italian walnut burl dashboards and Waterford crystal ashtrays. Not surprisingly, many heavily customized Clenet models were priced well into the six-figure range. Notable customers included Rod Stewart, Jim McMahon, and Sylvester Stallone. The marque would even attract royal attention from King Hassan II of Morocco who was drawn to what Fortune would refer to as the “American Rolls-Royce.”
