Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Introduced in April 1964, the Ford Mustang created a new class of sporty cars at an affordable price point that would prove to be an overwhelming success with more than 417,000 units sold the first year. Recognizing that they had created something truly special, Ford would continue to refine the Mustang for the 1966 model year with a freshly designed front grille to go with the selection of Coupe, Convertible, or Fastback models. Offered with a range of engine options to cater to different performance preferences and price points, buyers could choose from an inline six-cylinder engine or a 289 cubic inch V8 engine. Appointed with standard bucket seats, the 1966 Mustang would continue to win over the hearts of Americans as Ford would go on to sell an unbelievable 600,000 Mustangs that year. Paving the way for future generations, the success of the 1966 Ford Mustang was crucial to laying the foundation for the Mustang's stellar reputation as a symbol of American muscle and performance.
