2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Drive-By and Revving
Description
Aimed at those who felt the 707-horsepower Challenger SRT Hellcat wasn’t powerful enough, the Redeye was introduced in 2019 as the highest-performance Challenger available producing an impressive 90 additional horsepower. This was accomplished by swapping the Hellcat’s standard 2.4-liter, 11.6-psi supercharger for a 2.7-liter, 14.5 version. Other improvements to withstand this tire-melting power included 20 percent stronger axles, a reinforced ZF automatic transmission, heavy-duty drive shafts, as well as two fuel pumps and a power chiller to properly feed the beast under the hood. The Redeye shared its bulging, flared bodywork with the rest of the Hellcat lineup, differentiated by a larger hood scoop and a subtle ruby-tinted eye in the Hellcat logo – serving as a warning to anyone pulling up alongside at a stop light.
