1974 AMC Gremlin X Driving Video
Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Introduced in 1970 as a subcompact automobile, the AMC Gremlin was a bold, innovative response to an American automobile industry in a state of crisis. A bevy of economical imports catapulted the Gremlin to market while reduced gasoline supplies made it a sales success, with nearly 700,000 produced over a single generation between 1970 and 1978. Today the Gremlin is a pop-culture classic with its quirky two-door body style appearing as villian J. Curby Gremlin in Cars 2, and even in an episode of Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee featuring Jon Stewart.
The epitome of a fun and outgoing vehicle, this 1974 Gremlin features the Gremlin ”X” Package and benefits from a restoration in a bright color with upgrades to the engine, brakes, air conditioning, and stereo system. Combining style with economy, AMCs marketing division clearly loved the car, humorously advertising the new Gremlin as “The first American-built import.”
