1954 Ford Crestline Sunliner
Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
For the 1952 model year, the Crestliner was renamed the Crestline and retained its position as Ford's premier model line. Crestline exteriors sported a more contemporary appearance, featuring a wrap-around windshield, a new grille, and additional ornamentation that deviated from the earlier "Shoebox" design. Body styles included the Victoria two-door hardtop, the Sunliner convertible, and the Country Squire station wagon, which were joined by the Fordor Sedan and the Skyliner in 1954. Despite being the Crestline’s final model year, 1954 also brought an improved suspension setup and a new engine tune for the first-year “Y-block” overhead-valve V8. Beloved for its distinctive 1950s styling cues, the Crestline was a fairly well-equipped model for its class and is also relatively easy to maintain, which helps make it enjoyable to drive today.
Jerry Ferguson, a member of the United States Navy and a co-founder of Biomet Inc., a worldwide leader in the design and manufacture of musculoskeletal orthopedic implants and products, was known for his entrepreneurial drive and generosity. He was also an enthusiast of all things 1950s, from music to automobiles. Pursuing his love affair with the automobile, in 1984 Ferguson established the Classic Car Centre of Warsaw, Indiana, a company dedicated to the acquisition and restoration of mid-century American Classics. In operation until his return to Biomet in 1993, today Hagerty Marketplace is proud to offer The Ferguson Collection, comprising the long-hidden remaining inventory and personal collection of Jerry Ferguson.
