2019 Fiat 124 Abarth - walk around and driving video
Description
Alongside the widely acclaimed fourth-generation MX-5 Miata, parent company Fiat Group conceived of a differently styled, brand-specific Fiat variant that would share the Miata’s excellent rear-wheel drive platform. It debuted in 2016 as the Fiat 124 Spider, recalling the handsome, Lampredi Fiat Twin Cam-powered convertible of the 1960s-80s. While it shared the majority of its mechanicals with the Miata, 124 Spiders were powered by a Fiat-built turbocharged 1.4-liter “MultiAir” inline-four engine producing 164 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque in Abarth trim. Fans of Abarth-tuned Fiats were also treated to a standard six-speed manual transmission, Bilstein performance suspension, limited-slip differential, Abarth scorpion badges and more for its $31,035 base price. Additionally, its manually folding soft top could be effortlessly lowered in three seconds or less, allowing the driver to take full advantage of the soundtrack coming from the sport-tuned exhaust’s quad outlets. This low-milage, well-equipped example is the ideal way to experience the Spider Abarth’s exciting mix of Japanese engineering and Italian flair.
