Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
In 1925, Ford was the first of the Big Three to enter the pickup market, but it was Chevrolet that stood tall as Detroit's top truck seller by World War II. Resuming civilian truck production in August 1945, Chevrolet would launch their all-new “Advance Design” series of pickups in May 1945 which were wider, longer, and lower than the prewar leftovers previously offered. With a thoroughly modern design that began up front with the rear-hinged “alligator” hood protecting the incredibly robust and well-proven “Stovebolt” six-cylinder engine, a unisteel cab with grill, fenders, and hood were all mounted directly to the frame to minimize vibrations. The new Advance Design series would prove to be incredibly popular with customers and Chevrolet would continue to outsell its rivals even after Ford launched their all-new F-Series in 1948. Now supported by a devoted following, Advance Design 3100s have proven to be an extremely popular choice for both stock restorations and street rod conversions and remains highly prized by collectors today.
This car is part of the George Foreman Collection, which comprises over 50 cars from the 1930s through today, with a focus on American classics and late-model sports cars.

Please note that the vehicles in The George Foreman Collection have been in long-term static storage and will benefit from additional mechanical attention prior to being driven. Bidders are encouraged to review the Additional Documents section of each lot for any recent mechanical service rendered to help return certain vehicles to running condition. Additionally, bidders should carefully review the photos of each lot in the collection, which may highlight the oxidation of metal components certain vehicles sustained as the result of a garage fire caused by a golf cart battery in March 2019. Although none of the vehicles sustained fire damage from the fire itself, the negative cosmetic effects of the corrosive soot vary greatly from vehicle to vehicle and can be observed in the photo
Bubbles and chips in the finish (fenders, roof, and bed sides)
Chrome bumpers are oxidized
Interior switchgear is heavily oxidized
Poor brake stopping power, likely in need of a new brake master cylinder
