Description
Following the immense success of the Pontiac GTO, Chevrolet Malibu SS, and Oldsmobile 442, General Motors gave all of its A-body muscle car offerings a complete redesign for the 1968 model year. Among them was four and two-door Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, with the latter being shortened to 112 inches. The Supreme now represented the top of the Oldsmobile range, available in Hardtop Sedan, Hardtop Coupe, and Convertible body styles, all powered by a capable “L34” Rocket four-barrel 350 cu-in V8. Cutlass Supreme buyers seeking even more power for the street or the drag strip could also equip a choice of “L75” or “L77” Rocket four-barrel 455 cu-in V8s producing 250 and 270 horsepower respectively. 1972 marked the last year the Cutlass Supreme was available as a convertible until 1990, making them highly collectable as some of the last convertibles from the golden era of muscle cars.
