Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

By 2000 the world had gone just six months since the discontinuation of the original Mini when the new Mini Cooper was launched by BMW to be produced in their Oxford plant in Cowley, Oxford, England.. The new Mini Cooper “Hatch” was an immediate success, capturing many of the features of the original Mini and exporting them to foreign markets. The new Mini was different from all previous attempts to replace the original in that it maintained the retro-styling of the original 1950’s design. Within just a few years the new and improved Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works was created using the unique heritage of the company’s victorious racing program of yesteryear. In 1961 John Cooper English race car manufacturer John Cooper took the original Mini, a small, efficient car, and turned it into a very entertaining vehicle by upping the little car's horsepower from 33 to a much more lively 55. Winning several series throughout the 60’s the Mini’s racing pedigree was secure. In a similar spirit, the 2003 JCW Mini Cooper has been upgraded in performance and handling. Through the use of a completely redesigned cylinder head, a pulley driven supercharger, and a parallel-flow exhaust system, the horsepower of the 1.6 liter tritec inline-four went from 74 horsepower to an impressive 163. This Mini Cooper S is finished in Indie Blue with the factory optional American flag across the roof and is equipped with complete race inspired enhancements for an unforgettable drive.

This car is part of the George Foreman Collection, which comprises over 50 cars from the 1930s through today, with a focus on American classics and late-model sports cars.
