1991 Isuzu Pickup 4x4 Standard Cab Driving
Description
To stay competitive in the expanding import pickup market of the 1980s, Isuzu began retailing the P’UP in North America as an answer to the dominant Toyota Pickup. The third-generation TF-series introduced in 1988 was simply renamed the Isuzu Pickup in the United States, where it was available with a 2.3-liter inline-four, or a more robust GM 3.1-liter V6 producing 120 horsepower. Like its predecessor, the Pickup could be had in 4x4 Standard Bed, 4x2 Standard Bed, 1-Ton Long Bed, or Spacecab configurations to suit every customer’s needs. As a testament to the dependability and bulletproof build quality of the third-generation Isuzu Pickup, the truck continued to be sold in other world markets until 2016. Today, Japanese “RADwood-era” compact pickups are coveted in enthusiast circles for their boxy, retro styling, small footprint, and legendary reliability.
