Description
Unveiled at the 2000 Geneva Motor Show, the E46-generation BMW M3 quickly captured the attention of car enthusiasts and the motoring press alike. The sleek design, available in both Coupe and Convertible variants, was paired with a nimble chassis engineered by the legendary M Performance division of BMW that created an unforgettable driving experience. The M3 was easily distinguishable with its wider and lower frame, aggressive front bumper, and polished quad-exhaust pipes. Unlike its predecessor, the E46 was a world-market car that featured a powerful “S54” inline-six engine equipped with six individual throttle bodies, drive-by-wire, and BMW’s VANOS variable valve timing system, making it another impressively powerful and responsive six-cylinder powerplant from M Performance. Nearly 20 years later, the E46 M3 is a critically acclaimed performance car offering a tremendous driving experience. With its perfect balance of modern technology and analog feedback, it has earned a well-deserved place among the automotive greats.
