1960 Chevrolet Corvair 700 Sedan
Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
During the 1950s, General Motors began to face increased competition from foreign car manufacturers. To compete with the Volkswagen Beetle, GM began researching and developing a small compact car. Chevrolet's General Manager, Ed Cole, played a pivotal role in pushing for the development of the Corvair. The Corvair was built with a rear-mounted air-cooled engine, similar to the Volkswagen Beetle, but with a larger and more powerful six-cylinder engine. The Corvair boasted modern styling and was available in various body styles, including coupes, convertibles, sedans, station wagons, vans, and trucks. The Corvair was also the first American turbocharged production car. Today, Corvairs continue to have a dedicated following, and their parts remain readily available, making them a great option for families to enjoy together.
