1959 Ford Thunderbird Convertible Driving Video
Description
Styling revisions for the 1959 Thunderbird were far more subtle than in the previous year, with only minor detail changes taking place. The revised front grille featured a slotted design compared to the previous mesh, in addition to Thunderbird script moving from behind the headlights to “rocket” feature lines spanning from the doors to the rear bumper. 1959 would also mark the first year a fully-automatic power-folding convertible top was offered, along with leather upholstery. This further increased the Thunderbird's appeal as a personal luxury car. The increased comfort and convenience struck a chord with buyers, making 1959 a stellar sales year for the nameplate. Today these cars are beloved for their unique styling and wonderful useability that the whole family can enjoy.

Ownership History
While working at a steel mill in 1960, the current owner’s spouse enjoyed his hot rods and drag racing but decided he wanted a sporting convertible. After purchasing this 1959 Thunderbird, he met his future spouse in the car. As stated by the owner, she got in for a ride and never got out, having gotten married only one and a half years later. Since then, the car has always been enjoyed by their family.
