After countless prototypes and endless speculation over if – or perhaps when – General Motors would transition the Corvette from the traditional front-engine configuration to a mid-engine setup favored for years by its European rivals, Chevrolet finally lifted the cover for its all-new mid-engine Corvette in 2019. Available as either a Coupe or a Convertible with a removable hard top, trim levels ranged from the base 1LT to the fully loaded 3LT. For approximately $12,000 over the base model, buyers opting for the luxury 3LT package received high-end materials such as sewn leather and carbon fiber trim adorning the interior, as well as upgraded GT2 bucket seats.
