Description
Have the need for speed? Jack Roush certainly does. He began as an engine development engineer at Ford Motor Company in 1964. He was a champion Pro Stock drag racer in the 1970s before turning to sports cars as a team owner in 1984, then NASCAR in 1988, always racing Fords. He also founded Roush Performance Engineering in 1995, building some of the hottest street Mustangs around.
The 2021 Mustang Roush Stage 3 feeds that need with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 generating 750 horsepower and 670 lb-ft of torque. Unlike the 2021 Shelby GT500, a six-speed manual transmission was available on the Roush Stage 3, along with a 10-speed automatic. Roush added a larger radiator, transmission and differential coolers, plus recalibrated MagneRide suspension. Outside is a unique front fascia, new badging, and a splitter which reduces drag. The result? A blazing 0-60 mph time of 3.6 seconds and 1.07g on the skid pad.
In 2021 Road & Track reported, “The best part about the Roush Stage 3 Mustang isn't the massive power or handling prowess, though. It's the manual transmission.” Plus, this single owner six-speed Stage 3 includes many other Roush upgrades yet shows just 6,351 miles from new.
