Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Building on the legacy of Carroll Shelby’s original creations, Ford’s 2011 Mustang Shelby GT500 continued to push the boundaries of power and performance. Under the hood, the 2011 GT500 featured a 5.4-liter DOHC 32-valve supercharged aluminum-block V8 engine, producing an impressive 550 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a six-speed manual transmission, it delivered exhilarating performance and precise control.
The 2011 GT500 also benefited from significant improvements in handling and stability. Ford’s Special Vehicle Team (SVT) introduced the SVT Performance Package, which included a stiffer suspension, lighter wheels, and enhanced aerodynamics. These upgrades made the GT500 3.0 seconds faster per lap on a 2.3-mile test track compared to the 2010 model.
Visually, the car retained the aggressive styling that Shelby Mustangs are known for, with a distinctive front grille, hood vents, and a rear spoiler. And inside, the GT500 offered a blend of luxury and sportiness, with Charcoal Black SOHO leather seats and modern amenities like Bluetooth connectivity and navigation.
After testing the new 2011 Shelby GT500, writers for Car and Driver magazine nearly lost their collective minds. “The Shelby positively slaughters rival pony cars from Chevy and Dodge.”
