Description
Factory Five Racing’s Mk3 Roadster is certainly one of the more authentic Cobra reproductions. Hot Rod magazine said that the Mk3 Roadster “Well represents the breed” with Factory Five stating that it is the “best-selling, best-engineered, and best-performing replica of all time.” The specification would certainly seem to back that up. Factory Five’s aluminum paneled tubular space frame with integral backbone and full independent suspension is fabricated much like the original, including coil-over shock absorbers. The composite body is shaped to the dimensions of the original. Original-style details abound such as Halibrand-style wheels, wind wings, side exhaust, and a racing-style fuel filler cap, offering the Cobra experience - at a fraction of the price.
This particular example of Factory Five’s Mk3 Roadster was originally delivered to the consignor as a “Complete Kit.” The new components of the Complete Kit included the chassis, suspension, differential, brakes, body, interior panels, cooling system, and interior. The consignor notes that this was one of the last kits that Factory Five delivered with a new Ford 8.8 inch limited slip differential before Ford ceased production.
