SEMA Show 2010 Ford Mustang GT "The Rebellion" Walk Around
Description
“We built the car to rebel against the understated look,” Jay Jacquemoud, the founder of Mustang Depot, a Las Vegas-based Mustang specialist, told Muscle Mustangs magazine. “We wanted to bring back the flavor and flash that makes a hot rod a hot rod.”
Jacquemoud, a graduate of the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), wanted to celebrate the 20th anniversary of UNLV’s historic 103-73 victory over Duke in the 1990 NCAA Men's Division Basketball National Championship game. Like those “Runnin' Rebels,” Jacquemoud’s “The Rebellion” 2010 Mustang GT is cloaked in UNLV's Scarlet and Grey colors with tribal-style flames boldly on each side. Under the hood, the stock GT engine was upgraded with a Paxton NOVI 2200 H/D supercharger with intercooler. The modern theme continues inside with carbon fiber trim. A power upgrade was performed by Tachyon of Jacksonville, Florida, in 2022.
Hosted by the Specialty Equipment Market Association, the annual SEMA Show attracts around 160,000 visitors every November, with over 2,200 exhibitors showing off the best of their products and abilities. At the 2009 event, Ford Motor Company allowed Mustang Depot to exhibit “The Rebellion” as one of Ford's featured Mustangs.
