2006 Jaguar XK8 Convertible Cold Start
Description
The XK8 was introduced in 1996 as the successor to the XJS under the direction of Jaguar design director Geoff Lawson. It was offered in two body styles: a two-door coupe and a two-door convertible, both featuring useful 2+2 seating. It was the first Jaguar model to showcase the newly developed 32-valve V8 engine, known as the “AJ-V8,” with a displacement of 4.0-liters. The interior boasted all-leather upholstery, burl walnut trim, and side airbags, with two configurations available: a sport version with cloth seats and a leather interior or classic trim offering more amenities. In 2002, the XK8 received a mechanical update, with the engine enlarged to 4.2-liters and gaining more power. The front headlamps were updated with clear lenses, and other changes included new exterior colors, wheel options, and badging. Further revisions in 2004 brought new wheel designs, larger front and rear spoilers, and a redesigned grille. Initially equipped with a five-speed automatic transmission, the XK8 was upgraded to a six-speed automatic in 2002.
