By 2000, the world had barely adjusted to the absence of the original Mini when BMW launched the new Mini Cooper, produced in their Oxford plant in Cowley, Oxford, England. This new Mini Cooper "Hatch" was a standout success, embodying many features of the original Mini while introducing them to international markets. Diverging from previous replacement attempts, this new iteration preserved the retro-styling of the original 1950s design. In a nod to its illustrious racing heritage, an enhanced version of the Mini Cooper S was developed, showcasing significant performance and handling upgrades. The 2003 version of the Mini Cooper S received a performance boost with a redesigned cylinder head, a supercharger, and a parallel-flow exhaust system, increasing the engine's output from 74 horsepower to an impressive 163. The Mini Cooper S on offer is finished in British Racing Green with a factory optional white roof, and upholstered in Black Leather for a memorable driving experience.
