Description
The new water-cooled 911 was a shock to the system when introduced to the automotive world in 1997. Yet, today, it is obvious that the change was necessary, with the progression delivering all manner of fantastic and collectible Porsche sports cars over the past 25 years. On the leading edge of that revolution were cars like this 2002 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet. Joining the lineup in 1999, the 911 Carrera 4 with permanent all-wheel drive was offered as a Coupe and as a Cabriolet – the latter eliminating much of the potential harshness from the typical open-topped variant. What had shocked many just a few years earlier had turned into a sales success, with Porsche enthusiasts warming to the idea of a water-cooled 911 and ordering special examples like this one.
