2002 BMW Z8 Cold Start Video
Description
The BMW Z8 is considered by many as one of the best retro-inspired cars designed during the late 1990s. It pays homage to the classic 1956 BMW 507 designed by Albrecht von Goertz. This elegant roadster has an all-aluminum chassis, seats two people, and is powered by BMW's "S62" 4.9-liter V8 engine. The S62, which is also used in the M5 of that period, provides the Z8 with plenty of power and excitement. With 395 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, and a weight of just under 3,500 pounds, it can go from zero to sixty miles per hour in just over four seconds. However, this Ultimate Driving Machine was built for more than just speed, with a rigid chassis that has almost perfect weight distribution. According to Car and Driver, its remarkable acceleration, braking, and handling abilities can rival those of the class-leading Ferrari 360 Modena. The BMW Z8's stunning design was created by the Danish designer Henrik Fisker, who had already worked on some of the company's most beloved models of that period.
