Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The fourth generation of Firebird introduced in 1993 turned out to be the last one for this iconic model. The famous Trans Am returned and the WS6 performance package, which included a “Ram Air” hood, different tailpipes, tighter suspension, and available Bilstein shocks, was much sought after. The most significant visual update came in 1998, which included a facelift that gave the car a new hood and front fascia, and the LS1 V8 engine from the C5 Corvette, which was lighter, more powerful, and more easily tuned than the LT-series V8 engines it replaced. A 2000 Motor Trend test of a WS6 Trans Am found that the car could do zero to 60 mph in five seconds flat, the quarter mile in 13.5 seconds, and pull 0.84 g on the skid pad. The test concluded that it had the “perfect ‘60s exhaust note that’s equal parts Woodward Avenue and Daytona 500.”
This 2001 Trans Am WS6 has had just two owners from new, and the consignor has owned it since 2005. A professional repaint to the original black, and performance upgrades including East Coast Supercharging’s Stage 2 Package and Borla exhaust, delivers a unique fourth generation Firebird experience.
