Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
“The first-ever no excuses ’Vette.” That’s what Motor Trend called the new fifth-generation Corvette. Nothing borrowed, nothing old, the creators of the C5-generation started with a clean sheet. After the successful fifteen-year run of the fourth-generation Corvette, GM released the most radically redesigned version of America’s sports car since its inception in 1953. The new C5 was stiffer and lighter than the previous generation C4 due to the innovative use of hydroformed frame rails and featured a transaxle that improved not only the weight distribution but also increased interior space. On coupes the easily removed roof panel offers both a comfortable closed or delightful open-air experience. Other new features included a drive-by-wire throttle and a variable effort power steering system, but most notably, the C5 would introduce the world to the now legendary all-aluminum “LS” V8 engine. All of this created a sports car that was innovative in construction, comfortable, and, most importantly, a true performer. Offered in striking Speedway White over a Light Oak leather interior, this 2001 Corvette Coupe is ready to perform, no excuses.
