Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Introduced in the mid-1990s, the BMW Z3 marked a bold new chapter for the brand. The “Z” stood for Zukunft — the German word for “future” — and the Z3 delivered exactly that: a modern, spirited roadster that honored BMW’s past while pointing squarely ahead. Drawing inspiration from the legendary 1950s BMW 507, the Z3 blended classic roadster proportions with contemporary styling and engineering. Its long hood, short rear deck, and flowing fenders hinted at vintage grace, while underneath, BMW’s hallmark near-perfect 50/50 weight distribution and precision-tuned suspension gave it sharp reflexes and unmistakable road feel.
The Z3 was also a milestone for BMW manufacturing as the first model produced at the company’s Greer, South Carolina, plant. Offered with a range of powertrains, from eager four-cylinder variants to smooth and powerful inline sixes, as well as manual and automatic gearboxes, the Z3 gave all enthusiasts a chance to experience the Ultimate Driving Machine in open-air form.
Whether cruising coastal roads or carving up backcountry switchbacks, the Z3 was — and remains — a pure expression of BMW’s driver-first philosophy, dressed in timeless roadster style.
