Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
By the mid-60s Southern California was engulfed in a car craze, captivating young men like Steven J. Karlock, who became enamored with the Shelby 427 Cobra. Steven's passion for high-quality cars began with a Cobra, extended to Corvettes, and grew to include many legendary marques. Together with his wife, Jackie, he restored and cherished these vehicles. They later moved to Hannibal, Missouri, where they opened Karlock's Museum of Pop Culture in a historic grain depot along the Mississippi River. The museum, showcasing top-tier motorcars and memorabilia, became a Midwest gem. Hagerty Marketplace is honored to present The Karlock’s Collection, offered entirely without reserve.
The 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo marked the return of the Super Sport (SS) moniker, replacing the Z34 designation of the previous generation, which was a Lumina Coupe. Inspired by the NASCAR circuit, the 6th generation Monte Carlo featured aerodynamic styling and a ducktail spoiler, with the design based on the Monte Carlo "Intimidator" concept car from 1997. The initial trim levels included the LS, with a 3.4-liter OHV V6, and the SS, featuring a more powerful 3.8-liter V6 engine.
The 2000 Pace Car Edition of the Monte Carlo was a standout variant with production limited to 2,222 cars. It sported a Torch Red exterior with Galaxy Silver ground effects and unique checkered flag graphics. Additional features included "Tasmanian Devil" decals, a race-inspired rear spoiler, and a limited edition plaque. The interior showcased a striking two-tone leather design in black and red, with a special “Limited Edition” gauge cluster and "PACE CAR" script on the dash. Equipped with GM's “L36 3800” V6 engine, this edition combined performance with exclusive styling elements, celebrating Chevrolet's racing heritage. Highlights
