Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The Power Wagon name first appeared in 1945 to describe a civilian line of 4x4 medium-duty pickups based on Dodge's 3/4-ton WC series of World War II military trucks. These rugged, “military-type” pickup trucks remained largely unchanged through 1956, when in 1957, Dodge introduced new light-duty W100 and W200 series Power Wagon pickups. Initially powered by the original 251 cu-in Flathead inline-six, a much more efficient 225 cu-in overhead-valve slant-six appeared in 1963, followed by an optional big-block 383 cu-in V8 from 1967. In 1972, the “Sweptline” body style of the 1960s was exchanged for more modern styling that continued with various grilles and paint schemes through the end of Power Wagon production in 1980. Today, this rarely-seen pickup is considered highly collectible by Dodge enthusiasts for its robust build quality and 4x4 go-anywhere attitude.
