1992 Nissan 300ZX Undercarriage
Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Nissan, which had established itself as a builder of performance cars beginning with the 1970 240Z, continued to elevate the comfort and performance of their “Fairlady Z” with the 3.0-liter 300ZX in 1983. A completely new, computer-designed second-generation 300ZX (known internally as Z32) began production in 1989 and featured several innovations including optional four-wheel steering in the turbo variant. The 3.0-liter V6 was the only component directly carried over from the first generation, which was upgraded with variable valve timing and dual overhead camshafts. The reworked engine produced 222 horsepower, while the twin-turbo, twin-intercooled Turbo model made 300. North American and domestic buyers had a choice of a Slicktop or T-Top body style with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. Today, the 300ZX is appreciated by collectors for its sleek, modern design and excellent handling thanks to its fully independent multi-link suspension.
