1957 Jaguar XK140 Roadster Ride-Along

1957 Jaguar XK140 Roadster Walk-Around
Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The XK120’s sensational blend of beauty and performance had put Jaguar on the map as a leading builder of great sports cars – especially in America. To keep pace with the increasing demand overseas, the British automaker refined and upgraded the mighty XK120 where it could, resulting in the XK140 for the 1955 model year. The proven William Heynes-designed 3.4-liter inline-six remained under the long, sweeping bonnet, now three inches further forward and producing an additional ten horsepower. The newly spacious cabin could also be had as an open top Drop Head Coupe or Roadster like its predecessor, with the latter offering the ability to fold the top out of sight behind the seats to enjoy open-air, relaxed cruising. The XK140 also brought a softer suspension, rack and pinion steering, and improved brakes to the already capable XK platform, resulting in one of the best performing and most collectible models in Jaguar’s history.
