1999 Nissan Silvia Spec-R Driving Dash POV
Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
While U.S. drivers were making do with the naturally aspirated Nissan 240SX, Japanese Domestic Market enthusiasts were screaming around corners in the turbocharged Nissan Silvia. And Nissan saved the best for last, releasing the Silvia Spec-R in 1999. Based on an all-new S15 chassis and tipping the scales at barely 2,700 pounds, the right-hand-drive Silvia Spec-R was a lightweight, turbocharged hellion on the street and at the track.
The rear-wheel-drive Silvia Spec-R was built on a race-ready foundation, thanks to its many factory-installed chassis and body braces. And tucked between the fenders was a 2.0-liter jewel, Nissan’s SR20DET inline four-cylinder. Featuring dual overhead camshafts with variable timing control, EFI, high-tech ignition, and a quick-spooling ball-bearing turbocharger, this powerful mill regularly revved past 7,000 rpm. As equipped, this talented two-door shot to 60 mph in five seconds and drifted right past regular sport compacts to cement its spot as a full-blown JDM legend.
This black 1999 Silvia Spec-R six speed is the most desirable version, and features modifications for improved performance. And because it was only sold in Japan, Australia, and New Zealand, very few were legally imported to the U.S., making this a rare opportunity to own one.
