Description
The Aston Martin DB7, introduced in 1994, marked a pivotal moment in the brand's history. Known internally as the XX project, it was positioned as an “entry level” model and made use of componentry from their sister company, Jaguar Cars. Most notably, Aston Martin took Jaguar’s proven AJ6 engine and added an Eaton supercharger for much improved performance. Designed by Ian Callum, the car seamlessly blended timeless elegance with modern performance. Its sleek lines and iconic grille embodied Aston Martin's commitment to luxury and performance. Every DB7 was built out of the Bloxham, Oxfordshire plant, where the XJ220 supercar had previously been built.
Adorned in the exclusive platinum metallic, referred to as Dunhill Silver, the interior boasted a perfectly matched color choice of Charcoal Connolly hides, elegantly piped in Silver Grey. Departing from tradition, the Aston Martin walnut veneers were replaced by appealing brushed aluminum panels. The infusion of Dunhill aesthetics extended to various design elements, including the door handles, the surround for the trunk release, white-faced instruments, and the gear lever. These meticulous details not only elevated the overall aesthetic but also showcased a harmonious integration of design elements inspired by Dunhill products throughout the vehicle.
